About This Site

Finding someone in custody after a Nicholas County arrest often means checking more than one system. Local law enforcement may make the arrest, Central Regional Jail may hold the person, state corrections may list a sentenced prisoner, and federal or immigration custody follows separate locators. This private site brings those public lookup paths into one Nicholas County reference point.

Why This Site Exists

West Virginia makes many jail, court, and custody records available to the public, but the right office depends on where the person is in the process. Nicholas County does not operate a county-only jail roster. The county uses Central Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, which is run by the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation and serves several central West Virginia counties. State prison and parole records use a different WVDCR locator, while federal and immigration detainees are handled outside the county system.

What This Site Includes

The goal is to make the public paths easier to tell apart without presenting this site as an official record source.

  • Help with jail inmate records, jail roster mugshots, and court records after a jail arrest.
  • A facility page for Central Regional Jail and Correctional Facility with address, phone, operator, custody role, and visitation details.
  • Plain-language direction on when to use the regional jail search, the WVDCR prison locator, West Virginia VINE, BOP, or ICE tools.
  • Background on West Virginia public-record requests, booking-photo limits, and the difference between custody records and court records.

What We Cannot Do

Nicholas County Inmate Population is privately run. It is not part of the Nicholas County Sheriff's Department, Central Regional Jail, WVDCR, the West Virginia courts, or any local, state, or federal government agency.

  • We cannot release, transfer, hold, or move a person in custody.
  • We cannot post bond, arrange a visit, deposit money, or schedule calls for anyone.
  • We cannot provide legal advice or tell a person how to handle a criminal case.
  • We cannot promise that every phone number, address, fee, search result, or schedule is current.

Only the public office that created or controls a record can verify current custody, charges, release, bond, or legal status.

Search Partners

Some search boxes or research tools may be operated by third-party providers. Those partners control their own pricing, data handling, and search results. If a visitor chooses a paid service after using a partner tool, this site may receive a referral fee. That support helps keep the public reference pages available, but it does not make the partner result an official government record.
